Starting Out......
Kid Ridlyn was formed in the spring of 1993, at the home of our drummer, Danny White in the town of St. Cloud Florida. Dave had been trying to form a band with singer Dave Shuette for several months when he ran into Danny at the Osceola County Rodeo. The two talked for a while and Danny told Dave that he also was putting together a group with Chris Porter on guitar and Joe Foster on Bass, but was looking for a singer. They decided to join forces and have a two guitar band. The first rehearsals showed lots of promise, but there was no spark between Dave and Chris, and the band made the choice to ask Chris to leave the band. ( I want to make it clear now that Chris Porter is an extremely talented musician it was just the combination of everyones personalities that would not work.) The band did it's first gig about two weeks later with the line-up of Dave Schuette on vocals, Danny White on drums, Joe Foster on bass and vocals and Dave Bennage on lead guitar and vocals. The name was concieved while joking about the existence of older rock n rollers out there (Aerosmith, Stones, AC/DC, etc..) and the fact that the drug ritalin must have had some part of keepin' them going. So with a play on the spelling here we are...........KID RIDLYN! Kid Ridlyn started out playing lot's of different small clubs throughout the I-4 corridor, but later added larger venues like the SunSet Strip in downtown Orlando.
